▸ PROVENANCE PHILOSOPHY

if it cannot be cited, it cannot be said.

The synthesis layer runs on a retrieval-augmented architecture (RAG): every AI-generated sentence is conditioned on chunks pulled from filings, transcripts, and articles via OpenAI embeddings + DuckDB vector search. The model is instructed to decline a claim it cannot ground.

When the synthesis says “the company guided revenue down 12%” — there is a clickable link to the specific filing and the specific paragraph that supports it. When the synthesis cannot find such a paragraph, the synthesis stays silent. This is the doctrine.
